Culinary Experiences for Adults

Guest Chef Signe Langford

This summer, we are excited to offer a unique farm-to-table cooking experience for our adult guests.

For the past four summers, we have successfully guided children through the process of menu development, harvesting and foraging ingredients, and the joy of transforming those raw materials into a four course lunch. It’s time to share that experience with the grown-ups.

On set Monday evenings, ten guests will have the opportunity to join us in a Chef-led cooking experience. Some of Northumberland County’s best chefs will guide us as we collect fresh ingredients from our gardens, forage our wilderness, and then amaze us with a delicious meal.

Monday evenings (schedule TBA), 5:00-9:00. $TBD per person depending on guest chef, maximum 10 people.

Our assistant instructor is Tony Armstrong (bio below).

Video Production

2 courses will be offered covering the production of Lifestyle Stories (single camera) and Recipes (single camera & multi-camera).

Join us for these one-day courses on developing and producing video content for all formats and program lengths.

You will learn some theory (content development from story idea to script) and some practical (lenses, lighting, sound recording, cinematography, editing and mixing). Once we’ve covered the basics, we will turn to the specific curiosities of the students.

The courses will be taught at Headwaters Farm which has plenty of outdoor opportunities as well as a kitchen designed for recipe production.

Your instructors are industry professionals with years of broadcast experience in lifestyle, sports, documentary, corporate and drama.

Organized by Tony Armstrong

Becoming a farmer was the next logical step for me as I was raised by two dedicated foodies and have a life-long passion for cooking.

I am a professional content creator specializing in lifestyle, food, travel, and stock.

I have been producing, shooting and directing food content for most of my career, delivering hundreds of recipe segments for broadcast including two seasons of a series I created for Food Network Canada. I am a recipe developer, tester and teacher and I have produced dozens of recipe videos in the multi-cam Headwaters Farm kitchen studio.

Off-farm, I am a recipe presenter/host in the Cottage Kitchen at the Spring and Fall Cottage Life Shows in Toronto. I am also the Main Stage host at the Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show.

I have run the successful Kids Can Cook and Kids Can Film summer camp programs for 5 years at Headwaters Farm and I am excited about working with grown-ups.

We’ll be announcing our Summer 2023 Schedule soon!
